Yeeeah, gonna make a mad dash of a comment because I know I'll be in the minority here. Anyhow, LOVED IT as usual, but I'm sure you're not surprised though. Now, I'll tell you why I think it's great. Objectively, you've really set up a fitting scenario. Is it out of the realm of possibility that this could happen? No. Claire went through a traumatizing time in her life when she met Peter. Naturally, she'll want to think she and he will always be exclusive and special. Ugh, no pun intended. And they do, but people have all kinds of relationships, it doesn't make the ones we have to our loved ones any less when we welcome a new person into our lives. Claire is getting a dose of reality, and she doesn't like it. I say, Claire-bear, it's okay. Have a good cry. It'll be okay.

As far as Niki's portrayal? BRAVO! Thank you for not writing her as this freakin' walking target for everyone's angst. And I love that you kept her real and true. The fact that she isn't this perfect person as some would have written it in contrast to Claire. I.E. Claire bright and shiny, Niki bad and bitchy. I think Claire and Niki can learn and discover a lot more about who they are from one another. Now if only Claire would be able to move past this momentary sadness and jealousy I think this opens the doors for some fun scenes. Like I was thinking of the fanfic where you wrote about Peter and Niki getting married, and Claire's perspective on it.

It feels like this is the beginning and that fic is kind of the ending. So maybe some drabble in-between would be fun! I know you got the knack for it! :)
