True, true--and their relationship can be quite humorous. :P I love characters with dynamics and they sure as have one hell of a dynamic with each other.
And, honestly, if I was Claire and the polar bear I wanted to hug was Peter... I'd hug him. I'd hug him like there was no tomorrow, even if he WAS my uncle. xD
