Summary: Ehren Furst's once warm demeanor has changed, and
Yuna notices the harsh difference.
Winter’s Thorn
Ehren Furst pulls her aside into the dark shadows of the corners. She’s still furious with him for being cold to her – for changing from a spring blossom into a winter’s thorn.
His lips slam against hers, and he’s no longer tender or meek. His tongue demands entrance, and she gives it to him, to play his game – to reach inside and convince herself that he’s the only reason she grows.
Reino… The tears bubble inside, but they do not come. Her heart feels frozen, and the more Ehren kisses her, the more she stiffens toward his touch.
His grip on her wrist tightens, but he breaks away from the kiss. His dull, steely eyes look down at her, and he no longer feels recognizable.
It hurts. It hurts how he looks at her, and she wonders where all his sunlight went. He used to be like spring time, but now… he tastes like the coldest fog, the skin of his lips chapped and rough, as he grazes them against her like a dry fire.
When she feels Ehren flush against her, rigid like an unfeeling stone, she knows that spring in Phantasma can’t last long.
