So three years ago, I stumbled upon one of the cutest anime ever, Super Gals! and I totally scooped up the first season and when CMX started running the manga, I followed that too. Right around volume 6, I began to see a direction the manga COULD go, but wasn't because it was obvious the manga-ka had other plans for her characters.

Well, some of the decisions the characters were making I didn't agree with. I felt some of the characters were more interesting than others. I felt some feelings were more meaningful than others, and I felt that through hints in the anime and manga, the main character Ran Kotobuki and the boy she was always butting heads with (yet at the same time, relying on more than others) were perfect for each other, but one of the two was too immature at this point for a relationship. So this story was born.

It's definitely not as racy as some of my other stories. I wanted to write a sensual, dramatic romance with comedic moments, yet stay true to the characters on how they would progress if other decisions were made and certain feelings, which were otherwise shelved in the manga, were acted upon..

I never realized that others felt the same about this pairing like I did. I was happy I wasn't alone, and though I got flamed for not following canon status quo several hilarious times, I stuck with it, because essentially this was for me and all the alternate shippers of RanxRei out there that were curious to see a romance between these two but never really acted upon it or they never thought to pursue it.

Super Gals! is a small fandom, but I was glad to be apart of it. I even won an award last year for "Best Unsung Story 2nd Runner Up" from MediaMiner.Org, and I was finally glad this little story was recognized.


I just want to say to all my readers and supporters of this pairing: thank you for supporting "Silence for Naught" after all these years. I hope you enjoyed the story and I also hope the ending is to your liking.
