Summary: Kate gives Tommy a warning, not that he's going to listen anyway.



Tommy Shepherd is enjoying a chocolate shake in front of the TV when Kate comes from behind and twists his ear as hard as she can.

“Yow!” he screams, and he turns around, rubs his wounded ear and glares at her. “What the hell was that for?”

Kate crosses her arms in front of her. “You've been hitting on me way too much lately, and I don't appreciate. I'm with Eli now, so you can stop.”

Tommy looks affronted. “Oh, did he put you up to this?” He snorts. “I should teach your boy a lesson.”

“No, you won't. This is my doing, so no more messing around, Tommy.” Her voice rises with anger. “Got that?”

“Yeah, whatever,” he says, waving his hand with disinterest and returning to the TV.

“I mean it, Tommy. You're not going to flirt with me or try to piss off Eli. You need to promise,” Kate demands, and there's a heavy pause where he doesn't answer. Finally, he spins around and casually rests his arm on the back of the couch.

“Sure, probably,” he says.

“Probably? Are you crazy?” she rages.

“Well, I have been dubbed the team sociopath, so yes, I guess I am crazy,” he retorts.

“Do you even care about my feelings?” Kate asks him bluntly. Suddenly, Tommy speeds around and comes within inches of her face. Kate freezes under his grin.

“Of course, I care,” Tommy says, the macho bravado returning to his tone. He stares at her lips. “Which is why I'm not going to listen – to either of you.”

Kate releases a strained breath. “Why?”

He leans close and whispers in her ear. “Because you don't really want me to.”

I've always had trouble keeping track of comics, but I really hope they do explore this more at some point. Preferably as a serious option rather than to make dramalamas with Eli. Tommy deserves more than that, and they have so much potential just going to waste! I mean, why else introduce it at all? *sigh* My head-canon is right there with you...

If you haven't already, you need to pick up the Avengers: Children's Crusade one-shot (that came out last April), where Iron Lad goes to a future where the Young Avengers are now the Avengers, and Kate and Tommy are together and actually expecting kids...
Be forewarned, it's a bit bleak and dystopian but it's great fanfare for Kate/Tommy shippers. Eli is actually with someone else too.

Whaaaaaaaat this exists??? Dammit, the things I miss! Ugh I don't even know how to find it either! I want to read more YA anyways, but now I really need to find this!

Lol bleak and dystopian is a-ok by me. :) I mean, I don't want it all the time, but this looks totally worth it.

Of course, since it's set in a future dystopian world it might be saying that that's the only way they would be together, which makes me sad...

It's quite new since the Children's Crusade just started, I believe, last summer or fall.

Anyway, I have it in digital CBR format and I can PM a MU link to you if you like. I don't know if you can read a CBR, but most places have a free reader. I read it on my iPad in a eReader program called Cloudreaders, but I think if you have WINRAR, you can still unzip it and read it in JPG format on your comp.

Omg I would love it! :D Is the Children's Crusade the series where Billy and Tommy find out about their mom? Because I read the first few issues of that, but idk if any new issues have come out since I read them.
